elementsuite is a full employee life-cycle HR solution. Having 8 separate modules and hundreds of competitors knocking in the sector; being on top of your game is a MUST. At elementsuite things are constantly evolving and the HR software market is very fast paced. The danger of falling behind is very evident.
As elementsuite is all accessed through a browser, the main driver for the software is HTML, CSS/LESS, Javascript and PHP. Being a Creative Digital Designer for the past 4 years I’ve had to work very closely with the backend development team to help design, develop and advise on improvements and developments within the product.
UI/UX • Print • Web Development • Branding • Marketing
My role at elementsuite requires me to bounce around all departments within the company; from the marketing team and development team to the sales team. It has been a very demanding role, but a role that I relish. I found that often when the pressure was raised and the stakes were high, I didn’t crumble but in fact rose to the challenge. The confidence in myself to tackle problems/tasks has grown through the years and I owe that to elementsuite for trusting a fresh-faced new graduate.
Working with the marketing team I’ve had undertaken several projects over the years. A fully redesigned and branded website being one of them. Closely working with the marketing manager and a content writer, we tried to rebrand our website to be fresh and technical. We wanted the website to show aspects of Artificial Intelligence and pull through elements of our elementsuite atom. Along with this, we wanted the website to be engaging and so we used subtle hints of animation to bring life to the page. Other projects with the marketing team also included branding social media pages, and designing leaflets/Christmas cards to send to our clients.
Developing in HTML, CSS and a little Javascript over the years has given me the skillset to actually go off and build the mock-ups I’ve made in Photoshop. Often at elementsuite, once my mock-ups have been approved, I will go and develop the front-end of the page ready to be given to a back-end developer to hook up the logic behind it. Working with another designer also allows us both to bounce ideas and opinions off each other to further improve the product.
Working with the Sales Team at elementsuite has been the most challenging. As a new graduate at the start of my career at elementsuite, I had very little experience in print work and had to learn fast. I had to aid the sales team in securing some very big clients such as McDonald’s and Krispy Kreme. This ranged from branding our software to their brand, building mock-up prototype pages and ensuring nothing will be broken on the front-end during a demo. Along with this, I’ve had to design branded leaflets, brochures, roll up banners and fully branded stall artwork to be used at roadshows such as the CIPD show at the London Excel. I was also taken to the shows to demonstrate our product to potential clients; which although out of my comfort zone, I found very enjoyable!
At elementsuite I’ve been lucky enough to work and liase with some very popular brands including McDonald’s, Krispy Kreme, TGI Fridays and Holland & Barrett. Working with their branding team to brand our product just right for them, or just bouncing back and forth with a project manager to maybe improve how things are done from a front end perspective. Having another set of fresh eyes on your creations, opinions and designs really does help with development. I strive to create the best product for the client and acknowledge and welcome the opinions of others to better the product to make it the best it possibly can be.
You can NEVER stop learning!
